Mink wants to be the platform to help influencers communicate their value in the marketplace while offering them tools to negotiate with their clients formally and transparently. At the same time, Mink wanted to help established companies set themselves up for success with influencers through defining an infrastructure that enabled best practices.
We asked Mink stakeholders clarifying questions to define what best practices their users would need in this space. We collaborated with the team to generate product requirements, began exploring UI, mocking up options in order to make decisions about what features would meet these requirements best.
Together with Mink, we defined a message-based product user model and architecture that allowed influencers to manage their clients; message them; and create proposals, contracts, and invoices. This enabled Mink to meet users where they are and understand the places where this work is currently taking place–in text messages, Dms on social platforms, and major messaging platforms.
First, we defined a look and feel for Mink. Knowing this was a new industry made up of users with less business training, we created a playful, approachable interface that included simple financial tools to help users track their income over time and define goals.
We also included templates for contracts and copy that would feel comfortable to influencers, while empowering them in their relationships.
To tame business conversations initiated over email or DM, we created messaging tools that allowed users to track their conversations centrally and funnel them into formal client relationships.
